    You were a pasta maker? I simply must hear more about that, as I keep looking at recipes for homemade pasta in my cookbooks and saying, "Well, gosh! How hard could it be?"

    I used a machine. I was the girl in the lobby of the Olive Garden, making tray after tray of pasta. I think they eliminated that position about 6 years ago. And you are right, it's not hard.

    I'll tell you four jobs I've had, how's that? Food and TV shows, probably not so terribly interesting...

    I have been a radio DJ, the marketing manager for a search engine, a book reviewer for a newspaper, and a waitress.

    I was a really, really bad waitress.
