Any of you, my loyal readers, who have been here for awhile know that I moved from Maine to Seattle last summer. The move was not easy at all, but since I (FINALLY) moved into my apartment, I have fallen in love with Seattle and it's citizens.
I love the weather, the coffee, the people, the food. It's fantastic here, and my life has been good. I get out of the house, I meet people, I have coffee. I almost have a social life.
And I got to meet up with Rick, and Sizzle and Dave, and that was very excellent. And my Best Friend is here.
So, yes, I'm glad I moved, except for two things.
1) I can only watch the Red Sox play the Mariners, those poor bastards.
2) I can't get New England style hot dog buns.
I think that my cable system should offer New England Sports Network. Then I could watch a game every day, and you know that there are Sox fans all over the country. Why can they get NESN in Japan but not Seattle? Plus it would really annoy my friend Josh, and that makes it a win-win proposition.
The hot dog buns are a much more difficult problem.
These are the glory that is the New England Style Hotdog Roll, which can be grilled and used for hotdogs, lobster rolls, or anything else your heart desires. It is easy to toast and allows you to consume your chosen filling without all that excess roll which curses the "regular" hotdog roll.
They don't fall apart like those side cut rolls, and they fit quite nicely into the cardboard sleeve that is the necessary accoutrement to a hotdog shaped treat.
It is far superior to those other rolls and it is practically criminal that no one sells them here.
On the other hand...no, there really is no other hand. Damnit. Girl needs her team, and if she can't have her team, she should at least be able to get an appropriately garbed frankfurter.
